Healthy Traveling

Traveling can be very stressful, which often leads to unhealthy eating habits and weight gain. Here are a few strategies to maneuver around these obstacles:

  • Get in extra walking when possible. At the airport, avoid moving walkways and take a lap around the terminal.
  • Pack a resistance band for body-weight exercises to fit in quick workouts in your hotel room.
  • Avoid heavy, greasy foods and instead fill up on lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables.
  • Pack healthy snacks to keep you feeling full. Nuts, granola bars and bananas are easy to pack in your carry-on.
  • Drink more water than usual to stay hydrated.

    The only thing that gets tough–at least for me–is finding foods that are allergy-free, so I bring a lot of my own food with me:)
